All I can say is that planning a wedding will make you crazy mad at times. Frankie and I have set the date - 7-7-12, we are very excited to share this day with each other, our family and our friends. We have put alot of thought into all of our planning and we are incoorperating things that make us ... US. For starters, the venue is going to be the historic Range House, in Johnson City, TN. My great-grandmother worked and lived there many many years ago, she cooked and cleaned for the owners at the time. This means so much to me, to get married in a place with so much history, I was very close to my "Maw" when I was a kid, she passed when I was 15 years old, so to know that I am saying my vows in a place that she spent alot of time at , is awesome.
Next we plan on incorporating alot of wood in our decorating, as most of you know - Frankie is an arborist and has a strong passion for wood and trees. He is making all of our slices of wood for our cake, centerpieces, platters, and other decor. Also I have decided to use vintage buttons and burlap to make my bouquet, and add to the centerpieces, this is so me. My theme is rustic, country and simple. Colors are Dark Brown, Burlap colored Brown, and Ivory/Creme. I won't spoil all of the details, but I can guarantee if it turns out like the pictures in my mind - it will be nothing short of gorgeous. There will be lots to look at and talk about, as most everything will be reminding us of our southern roots. Mason Jars with candles, and other little touches of the South. Everything is a part of Frankie and I , we want it to be fun, unique and all Southern. The food will be some Southern faves, the drinks, and everything in between. I am really excited and can't wait til next summer. let the fun/stress of planning begin!
