The 1st snow of the season actually came on Dec. 1st, what a gift that was. We had our fair share of snow last Winter, but I was thrilled to see the beautiful snow coming down Wednesday morning. I was not suprised at all of the negative remarks on facebook and twitter as people do not deal well with the cold. I do but only because I don't really have to get out in it - nonetheless - Welcome December , welcome hot chocolate and cozy fires in the fireplace ... I have missed you.

Say hello to the McDonald's Holiday Pie ... they are pretty famous here in Unicoi County - our Editor of the local paper, "The Erwin Record" loves these little pies so so so much that he has went to great lengths to get them BACK in the Tri-Cities area ... and he succeeded! I have to say - I have never had Holiday pie before - and IT WAS FANTASTIC ... like Birthday Cake in a box ... yummm - RUN OUT NOW and get YOURS!!!! But fair warning ... You will be addicted! Don't say that I didn't warn you!

What else could get one in a better holiday spirit than "It's a Wonderful Life" - nothing - nothing can do it for me quite like George Bailey and Clarence trying to earn his wings. I was lucky enough to go with a good photography friend to Barter Theatre last night to see the play and let me tell you - it was FANTASTIC! We laughed and cried of course. The actors were amazing and it was a great great following of the movie! Barter knows how to do things right!

This was the fountain across from Barter Theatre and it was a "Frozen Oasis" - it was a freezing night - temps were around 27 dgrees ... but beauty was found in the fountain.

I love to take the backroads because there is sooooo much mnore to be seen when you slow down and enjoy the view. I love country living cause - YES - I made Frankie stop in the middle of the road to take this and in the country - YES MA'AM you can OWN the road for a few minutes anyhow. I love the contrast of snow on the brown horse and I love how the one is looking like I was an interruption. Winter is here to stay ... NO SCHOOL for the kiddies tomorrow! Yippeeeee!

Ho - Ho - Ho ... Santa has a new ride ... well not really ... this is one of my favorite local decorations - it has been at the same spot for many many years ... I just love to see traditions and people who get into the Holiday spirit!

No one should get this excited over Hot Chocolate - I am a dork ... but I love LOVE love Hot Chocolate ... do you say Hot Cocoa - or Hot Chocolate ... I have NEVER said Cocoa in my life ... just a thought ... but I did find the most YUMMY French Vanilla mini marshmallows shaped like snowmen ... TOO GOOD!
